Higher National Diploma in Computing (Business Information Technology) HND-BIT
Academic Year
The duration for the course is 3 years, which comprises of 1 year study of Foundation level and 2 years of Higher National Diploma (HND) level. The regular academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester comprises 23 weeks (one orientation week, 17 weeks of lectures, one week of mid-semester break and four weeks of semester holiday).
Academic Load
A normal course load consists of five subjects including repeat papers, which range from 18 to 25 credit hours per semester. A student must register a minimum of 18 credit hours or 5 subjects per semester. Any students wishing to register more than 25 credit hours per semester must obtain an approval from the Heads of Department/Senate.

Students’ achievements in all units may be graded as follow:

Students must pass ALL the units of Foundation level in order to pursue to HND level. Each student’s grade profile is recorded on his/her Diploma, and it is important information to support future applications for employment or entry into other programmes or study
