Attendance
Class Attandance
A student’s official course programme is regarded as a contract with the college. Since full performance requires, in part, a good class attendance, hence, a regular and punctual class attendance is compulsory for all students. A failing grade (F) will be awarded if the attendance falls below 95% (without reason) for a given unit. For medical leave and approved leave, each student is allowed to take leave of not more than 15%.
Leave of absence
The maximum duration for the leave of absence with consent from the college must not exceed two semesters (one year).
Academic Misconduct
Academic misconduct includes cases of cheating and plagiarism. If a students cheats or plagiarizes, a faculty member has the authority to grant a failing grade for the work undertaken, or for the course. The case shall be referred to the Disciplinary Board.
Academic Honours
MARA Outstanding Performance Award
MARA Outstanding Performance Award is granted to full-time students with good academic standing who attain a Distinction for the diploma.
College Outstanding Performance Award
College Outstanding Performance Award is granted to full-time students with good academic standing who attain Merit or Distinction for every semester. Eligibility for academic awards also depends upon a student’s disciplinary conduct both inside and outside the classroom.
Graduation
Official Graduation Exercises are normally held once a year. All responsibility for fulfilling the requirements for graduation rests with the individual students.
Graduation Requirements
A Diploma will be awarded if the student satisfies the following:
a. Attains a passing grade in all subjects
b. Pass in all common skills outcome
c. Completes the minimum credit hours according to study programmed
d. Discharges all financial obligations
e. Obtains the approval for graduations set by the Senate
