This subject establishes a broad awareness and understanding of the elements of the computer system and related issues in the age of sharing information. It introduces the basic techniques in window environment and the management of the data. It emphasises on mastering the basic skill in Word Processing, Spreadsheet and presentation packages.

This subject exposes students to formal business correspondence and grammar, which are integrated in business situations. It further helps students' development in reading and oral communication skills. The subject also enables students to deal with communication in business and other professional situations.

This subject develops further understanding of accounting principles and their applications to the financial statements. It explores other areas of accounting such as error corrections, control accounts, incomplete records of sole trader and final accounts for non-profit organisations and manufacturers. It also introduces basic accounting for partnership and company accounts.
